August and Silja are our latest artists and both draw inspiration from the same source. Nature. August grew up in Jämtland and says that his thoughts often go back to the northern parts of the country. Snow-covered forest clearings, wet fields and poor clear-cutting are often motifs in his watercolors. Everything August does now is 100% hand-painted watercolor and is often inspired by the everyday and boring parts of life. Silja grew up in Iceland and started painting during her maternity leave. Silja paints mountains, large, soft mountains in muted favorite colors and she expresses that they remind her of childhood, of harmony, security and to love the simplicity of life.
