Jennie Petersen started painting a few years ago but it was when she became sick of exhaustion that she found her focus. Like many other women, Jennie has long felt that she is never good enough. She is tired of the ideals and norms that our society creates and challenges them in her art. The inspiration for her work comes from women who believe in themselves, women who dare to take their place and who challenge ideals and norms. Some of them are Helene Schjerfbeck, Vanessa Bell, Sonia Delaunay, Sigrid Hjerten and Lena Cronqvist. Jennie now paints mostly with acrylic and oil pastels.
