Abstract motif in gouache. Part of the series "Morning studies". During a heatwave in August of 2018, I decided to start each morning by creating four images rather than scrolling through my phone. The images created in this drowsy state resulted in unconstrained and inituitive works that surprised the more alert self later in the day.

I'm (b. 1989 in Göteborg, Sweden) an artist and designer based in New York City. I'm specialized in textile design for the fashion industry where I create concepts and custom artwork for prints, graphics, embroideries and knits. My personal work take an experimental and liberated approach to subject matters such as abstraction, color harmonies, repetition and rhythm. I often create a set of rules for myself and produces images in series, in order to investigate how much a given theme can develop. This artistic process is not unlike designing, which inherently has its possibilities and limitations - a significant part of the work is to solve a given problem in a satisfying way.
