Wall of Art was founded in 2017 by couple Annika Hultgren and Nicklas Claesson. Wanting something simpler than traditional paintings for their walls, Annika designed art prints to match their modern yet inviting interior design style. Happy with the results, the couple realised they were on to something.
Recruiting painter and designer friends proved fairly simple—most were quickly excited about the idea of creating design for interiors, and soon they had put together the first Wall of Art collection. The collection featured 100 original art prints and was first shown in Stockholm the fall of 2017.
What started as a personal project for their own home quickly became something bigger—a new way for design lovers to access high-quality, curated art with a distinct, modern aesthetic. The response from interior designers, art enthusiasts, and homeowners alike confirmed what Annika and Nicklas had hoped for—there was a growing demand for accessible, thoughtfully designed art that elevated everyday spaces.
Today, Wall of Art consists of 39 designers and artists, all with their own style, yet sharing the same vision of creating top quality design for inviting interiors. The company is still based out of Stockholm, Sweden, but now with the Wall of Art apartment as the base of operations.
