Black Friday takes place every 4th Friday in November the day after Thanksgiving. For Wall of Art and other retailers it's common to offer lower prices and discounts for you as a customer during a set period of time. Common periods in addition to the Friday itself is to offer discounts during the weekend known as Black Weekend, throughout the week known as Black week or the Monday after called Cyber Monday.
