Lisa Larsson, Summer Isles

Lisa Larsson is back with a new collection of Art Prints. This time they’re painted from longing. A summer longing. “We are now entering the best time of the year here in Sweden in my opinion. All the sweet things are ahead!" The collection consists of 16 Art Prints, of which 14 are limited edition.

Lisa Lisa Lisa. We are now releasing our fourth collection together, and no one is happier than us. A lot has happened since our first launch two years ago. Where are you in life?

- In the middle of it, I would say, it is an incredible luxury to work with what I love. Even though I'm tempted to say it (as a true Gbgare), I enjoy Stockholm very well. It's been an intense time since I moved here 3 years ago, but I appreciate every day I get to paint.

"I dream of the small things in life, I like to see myself in a house in warmer latitudes, with a garden and maybe some chickens."

In September you will be exhibiting in NY, tell us more!

-I was asked to exhibit at a gallery run by two art veterans with whom I immediately felt a good connection. It is important to me to feel safe together with people I work with. The solo exhibition opens on September 14th at Alchemy Gallery and the theme revolves around our habits of sharing embellished versions of what we consume. So in the coming time I will barricade myself in the studio and paint day and night.

What will you be doing in three years?

-I dream of the small things in life, I like to see myself in a house in warmer latitudes, with a garden and maybe some chickens. But who knows, I'm completely incapable of thinking beyond 3 weeks. But I will probably paint until the day I die.

Your new collection is a little different from previous paintings, we see some new expressions and color schemes. What is Summer Isles all about?

- We are now entering the best time of the year here in Sweden in my opinion. All the sweet things ahead, so the works I created for this collection are painted out of longing. A summer longing. A tribute to everything I love during the summer.

What is the most common question you get asked?

-What should we eat tonight?

What has been required of you to get to where you are today?

-An inner patience and acceptance. I try to be as kind as I can to myself, I think it has saved me in moments of doubt and adversity.

What are you eating this summer?

-Gahhhh I want to eat everything, I want to walk around and taste just about everything I see this summer. I long for fruit, sun-ripened vegetables and grilled fish.
